You have many choices ranging from our fully equipped studio, our own “on site” garden / bush location, our local beach, in your own home or garden, on your property or great local environmental shoots in situations like train stations, streetscapes and even “urban decay”.

Your family can be photographed happily smiling at the camera through to interactive and playful images where the camera is recording the fun without   your images looking posed and static. We like to explore the photographic options with you, during a consultation in person or over the phone prior to the session.

As with all photo shoots at About Faces Photography, when you have made your booking we take the extra time to advise you on the best clothing choices for your chosen style of portrait. These small but important considerations can make all the difference to your finished portraits.

Retouching is another professional service we offer our clients. From a mosquito bite, to baby drool, through to tummy tucks and chin lifts. Most things that causes you concern can be easily solved with a little retouching on the images you choose to own.

Kids, Families and Singles or Couples on the Beach

Our beach portrait sessions are extremely popular with many families from Wollongong and Illawarra areas. Even overseas clients often book a session for when they are in The Illawarra region visiting friends and family.

On the beach we have photographed a man with his dog, a woman with her horse, loving couples, single children, sibling groups, families and extended families. The possibilities are endless. Being photographed at the beach is all about living in this great part of Australia.

When we photograph a family on the beach we not only do a variety of different shots of the family group such as walking, sitting, playing etc we also photograph the kids together and individually if you wish plus some of mum and dad as a couple because usually they haven’t been photographed professionally since their wedding day. Bush / Garden Photo Shoots.

Our on-site outdoor locations are very popular with both adults and children for portrait shoots. We have a very rustic slab and shingle barn with wonderful old lead light windows and an aging horse door feature, a cottage style garden area and a natural bush setting.

With iron wagon wheels, old timber boxes and 1950’s tricycles around the barn or playing peek-a-boo around the tree in the bush setting; the children have a great time. We photograph dad tumbling on the grass with mum happily watching on or joining the action to portray a natural casual feel. Our outdoor portraits are very popular with every member of the family.

Studio Photography

Adults, Teenagers and Family Studio Photography.

We can create a photographic session designed to suit your needs. The studio camera room can be ideal for adults or families with little babies or toddlers or the terrible twos through to teenagers. The studio session can also be ideal for young adults and extended families including multiple generations. It’s also very handy for when the weather turns bad or cold. About Faces Photography is one of the few portrait studios in Wollongong to have a permanent studio camera room.
