Can we introduce you to About Faces Photography? About Faces has been in the Wollongong area for over 20 years. Firstly in Thirroul but now on the Princes Highway in Bulli. We’ve photographed boudoir and glamour clients, family portraits in our camera room/studio or our specialty, outdoor or environmental portraiture especially on the beautiful Wollongong and Illawarra beaches. Our beautiful baby and child portraiture is legendary. We capture the light and life in the eyes of children as no one else can.

About Faces also does fine quality tabletop Commercial and Advertising images for businesses and web site designers.

The principal photographers in our Wollongong studio are Janet and Lindsay Merritt. Janet is a world-class photographic judge and educator and the recipient of no less than three AIPP Master of Photography honours and was the New South Wales AIPP Professional Photographer of the Year in 2003. Janet was awarded the Henry Talbot award for service to the professional photographic industry in May 2009.

Janet is a studio lighting specialist and covers most of our newborn baby sessions, baby and children’s sessions, our gentle and sensitive pregnancy portraits as well as glamour and studio family portrait sessions. Beautiful professional photographs of a woman, for a woman, by a woman.

Lindsay, also an AIPP Master Photographer was the 1996 NSW Digital Image Maker of the Year, the Australian Professional Photographer of the Year in 1999 and the 1999 Portrait Photographer of the Year. Lindsay loves outdoor, beach, bush and at home sessions. Lindsay is an environmental portraiture specialist, seeing and using light that flatters and wraps gently around his subjects which evokes a powerful three dimensional effect. The soft afternoon light found in the northern suburbs of Wollongong is his happy hunting ground.

Janet and Lindsay were also the first husband and wife Master Photographers in Australia, something of which the people of the Wollongong area can be proud.

Janet’s images of special children with special needs can be seen in advertisements in The Illawarra Mercury. Her photographs for Kidz Wish adorn the Wollongong Entertainment Centre and Kidz Wish House in Shellharbour.
